Sound is content too! Increasingly, the term “content” encompasses audio—music, audio sound effects, you name it. Here’s a sampling of work I’ve done:

Radio Advertising Campaign to boost community awareness
     – for Georgia-Pacific lumber mills in California

Multi-Image Presentation on the Loma Prieta Earthquake
     – for the California Office of Emergency Services

Original Music (downloadable MP3  “Layer 3” files)
     – original music from various projects

Image Radio Ad Campaign
To Promote positive community relations

For Georgia-Pacific Corporation

I created an “image” radio ad campaign for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation, designed to play in the rural local markets in which their mills are located (Martell and Fort Bragg, CA).  The radio spots were designed to spotlight the company’s strong safety record, couched in the romantic heritage of their decades-long lumber mill history.

The spots are based on the testimonials of several employees, as told in their own words (their narratives were not scripted). I then went on location and conducted the audio interviews, a process which included vocal coaching of individuals unaccustomed to being recorded.

I brought in talent for the announcing and co-wrote the script; other than that, the production work, from start to finish, was my own.

Two of the G-P spots are available for download in MP3 (MPEG layer 3) format in two different levels of audio quality—Hi-Fi stereo and Low-Fi mono (Hi-Fi is better quality; Lo-Fi loads fastest):

YIKES! Which version do I choose???

These files can be played on Windows Media Player, WinAmp, RealNetworks's RealPlayer and many other popular MP3 players.

Technical Note: As you may know, the process used to prepare these files for internet delivery renders the final product less than studio quality. Please bear this in mind while listening to these files!

The Loma Prieta Quake Emergency Response
A computerized multi-image presentation

For the California Office of Emergency Services

I created a multi-image presentation documenting the emergency response to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in California. Over several months, thousands of still images were collected from various agencies and hundreds more shot by my photographer. I then conducted numerous interviews with emergency responders, government officials and actual victims; organized and scripted the presentation; edited down 40+ hours of taped interviews; created original music and sound effects; mixed and mastered the narration and soundtrack, and; programmed the computer-driven slide projectors.

The 55 minute presentation debuted at a Bay Area earthquake preparedness seminar before a gathering of emergency response planning officials from this and other countries. It was well received by the audience and won an award from the State Information Officers Council.

Original Music
Downloadable MP3 “Layer 3” files

From various projects

I’ve been involved in music from an early age and have completed numerous musical projects. These include music beds for radio spots, themes, multi-image soundtrack music and various personal musical projects. The three selections below are a sampling of my work in original musical composition.

As with the G-P spots above, these files can be played on Windows Media Player, WinAmp, RealNetworks's RealPlayer and many other popular MP3 players. (Remember: The audio quality will be less than optimum due to the process used to prepare these files for internet delivery.) As above, Hi-Fi is better quality while Low-Fi loads faster:
